In Japan and around the world, efforts to become carbon-free (decarbonization) are accelerating. In particular, European Union (EU) has proposed a regulation to reduce CO2 emissions from cars to zero by 2035, and has announced its policy to aim for a carbon-free society in the near future, including not only automobile fuels but also materials, parts, and batteries. Therefore, automakers, parts and battery manufacturers, including those in Japan, are being urged to take immediate action. Noritake Co., Limited, in cooperation with the Tokyo Gas Group, has been promoting industrial furnace-related technologies for decarbonization from early on. We will contribute to the realization of the Japanese government's 2050 carbon neutral and decarbonized society, and work with everyone to create an environmentally friendly future.
In the development and early realization of decarbonized industrial furnace technology, we conducted a survey in cooperation with Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Co. (hereinafter referred to as “TGES”) with keyword “what will be the leading part for next generation energy. We will track trends in a wide range of industries, including the automotive industry, energy-related industries, and mechanical engineering-related industries, based on responses from manager-level people who will lead the next generation at major companies in Europe, the United States, and elsewhere.

Developing hydrogen burning type continuous firing furnace “C-SERT-RHK-Nero” (hereinafter referred to as Nero”) When we think of decarbonization, electrification as represented by electric vehicles comes to mind, but it is also true that electrification in energy-intensive industries is often difficult to address quickly due to large capital investments and other reasons. In collaboration with TGES, Noritake developed Nero based on its combustion technology, which is highly effective in terms of both running cost and decarbonization. Is the hydrogen combustion able to deal with running cost? This is a proposal for future decarbonization.

Developing high corrosion resistance heater type continuous firing furnace “C-SERT-RHK-Fos” (hereinafter referred to as “Fos”) This is a new type of firing furnace equipped with high corrosion resistance heater, which is proposed to those who are promoting decarbonization by green electricity. By combining the new heater developed by TGES with Noritake's firing furnace technology, we have also prepared a complex machine that can handle various types of energy (electric power, hydrogen, etc.) in the future.
