The design is based on the theme of “oriental style of beauty with exoticism”. The generous border design, which looks as if it were painted in watercolor, has a lovely elegance. The intricate designs of the background gently enhances the leaf, flower, and fruit motifs.
-
The motif is the “Tree of Life,” an imaginary plant that blossoms and bears fruit at the same time. It is a traditional motif prized in places around the world like Western Asia, as a symbol of life force and prosperity of offspring. The flow of the beautiful arabesque was carefully designed, bringing grace and charm simultaneously.
-
The Nanban trade brought “chintz” to Japan, and its novel and gorgeous patterns were the the object of adoration. The design expresses the elegance of exoticism by freely depicting the patterns used in chintz.
-
The red and gold color at the central part of the flower further accentuates the contrast between the gently gradated “leaves” and the clearly drawn “flower,” adding depth and charm to this design.

The contrast between the gently gradated “leaves” and the clearly drawn “flower” is exquisite in this floral arabesque. The small purple berries add a lovely accent.

This floral arabesque combines gold petals spreading in all directions with leaves drawn in a gentle gradation. The heart-shaped leaves also give a lovely impression.
