Painting Workshop

Visitors can decorate their own one-of-a-kind plate or mug on the 2nd floor of the Craft Center.

We have made painting ceramics easy by dissolving porcelain paint in water allowing both children and adults alike to enjoy the process. Why not take your turn in creating an original hand painted artwork on pure white bone china tableware?

*Average time reguired 90 minutes.
*We regret to inform you that you cannot take your artwork home on the same day.

Flow of the China Painting Workshop

Step 01.

First, pick out the plate, mug, or ceramic object you would like to paint.

A plain plate and a mug

You can create an outline with a ballpoint pen and freely add colors.
Please note that the ballpoint pen lines will disappear when fired.

Color- in plate(20 cm diameter)

Just fill in the colors within the pink lines. Recommended for people who aren't good at drawing.
Please note that the pink lines will disappear when fired.

The group tourists who try painting color-in plates

Please decide on your desired pattern and make a reservation at least two weeks in advance.
There is a limit to the number of them available.
The following requests cannot be accommodated:

*Seasonal items are excluded.

*Changes or cancels on the same day.

Step 02.

Paint freely using the 12 paint colors.

Step 03.

Once finished painting, your artwork will be fired at the Craft Center.
The final artwork will be mailed to your home one month later. It will take longer during busy season.

International Shipping

*Additional shipping fees for international orders are required.
Shipping fees are calculated based on the total weight and the distance from Japan.

*We regret to inform you that you cannnot take your artwork on the same day.

Fee

We would like to inform you that starting from April 1st, we will be implementing a price adjustment for our services, ”Noritake Painting workshop.”
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support.

- Plate (20 cm diameter): 2,300 yen (After April 2025, 2,800 yen)

- Mug (9 cm height, approx. 7.8 cm diameter): 2,300 yen (After April 2025, 2,800 yen)

- Color-in plate (20 cm diameter): 2,500 yen (After April 2025, 3,000 yen)

There are also ornaments that only require painting.
